Ok, I've got to ask. What is the difference between:

Homosote Soundboard

Sound Deadening Board

I search Home Depot and the only one that seems to be available here is the Sound Deadening Board @ $9.95/sheet. I take it Quiet Brace is like drywall and soundboard in one with more structural integrity than Homosote. I assume I'd want Homosote at a minimum and not the Sound Deadening Board, though I may try a sheet on my Christmas layout this year.

The Sound deadening board is a good product. I used it on my Lionel PW style 4x8 layout. takes paint well, holds both nails and screws well, imho is as good as Homasote for sound deadening. it's also lots cheaper. last homasote i bought cost 27$ a sheet. so at 10$ versus 27+, i'm satisfied with it.
