I looked around the forum and could not find any information about this so here goes. I am working on restoring a Lionel 259E. Things are going well so far. I was able to disasemble the body and motor. Then, cleanup the armature and replace the wiring and brushes. Now everything works very well mechanically. What I cannot figure out is how to replace the pickup rollers. I feel like it should be an easy thing to do. Does anybody have any input? Any good repair manuals out there for prewar Lionel?
For this project I am keeping the orginal paint but for another project I have to strip and repaint the engine. How does everyone recomend stripping old paint?
