So say the instructions.

I had to relocate my DZ1000 motors as the pilots of some steamers were hitting them.

Now the DZ-1002 switch has the LED red/green colours correct but they are reversed on the DZ-1000.

Instructions say to use pliers to pull the LEDs. PLIERS!!!! I tried tweezers. They just slip off the bulbs.

Before I break the LEDs with pliers, anyone actually done this successfully? Pulled the LEDs from a DZ-1000 with needle nose pliers without breaking them?

I have done it and it works, just don't squeeze hard with the pliers. They were not in there as tightly as I thought and actually came out pretty easily.

I got my smallest needle-nose and used my lightest grip. Success!

Note that there is a flat side to the LED that needs to be turned 180 degrees. Note the flat bottom red LED. The green LED is flat on the top, this picture.

You can only do this with the DZ1000s can't do this with the DZ2500s.

Although you cannot re-position the LEDs on the DZ2500 you can alternate the red/green based on the through-arm position with the internal software.

I saw Dennis do this once and have no idea how to do it again.
