Hi all.  Working on some ideas for placing my new 34' turntable from CSX Al into the layout.  I'm looking for anyone who has put together a turntable / roundhouse / service area using RR-Track that I can cut and paste into my layout and then play with to get some ideas.  I'm looking at building my own roundhouse unless I can come up with one cheap !  Any  pictures of your turntable / roundhouse / service areas are welcome too!

Thanks !

Dave this is smaller but gets started. My layout set up with a Korber house and 27" Diamond Scale TT. Area is 7ft X 5 ft. Which pushes the house closer to the table.  Done with Atlas Freeware. The TT/RH was a remodel/expansion project.

I had a (4) stall Korber 304 house (used) so I developed a floor template and installed the TT as you have done.

The center point of the TT will determine the spider rail layout.

Each RH track has to center through the door opening but not necessarily center in the bay. Note how the outside two track move to the outside walls of the house because I'm really too close to this TT.  The rear wall panel has (4) windows center would be the large brick space between the windows shown. There is a chance if this was a (6) stall house the next set of tracks would have to be curved to fit. I didn't have the room, but if you push the house back away from the TT some of this corrects.

The modular TT/RH set up is very similar to Al  34" TT. Requiring about 1ft space between the TT pit wall and the door openings on a Korber 304 house. The rails center in each bay.

To get the spider tracks straight, we used a string line from the oposite end of the TT bridge, aligning perfectly with the bridge center rail and the spider rail center rail.

Limited space, the outside (4) tracks curve off the TT wall.  Overall space here is 4ft X 8ft. Keep in mind that top of rail on the TT bridge will determine track height every where on your engine facility.
