Ladies and Gents,

I'm working on my 12' x 16' with 2'x8' Yard Extension. I'm using MTH Scaletrax, and throughout my planning I neglected to put a double crossover on my mainline. After some research, I'm in need of the mainline track center-center distance required by using 4 - #4 Switches, a 22.5 degree crossover, and 2 10" straigthts. If I can get the spacing close enough, I'll throw in the 2x-Xover. If someone could get me these dimensions, or provide a better solution...feel free to reply.

Thanks,

Bob K.

I like the spacing for #6's better.  If you don't need a double crossover but rather need a way to get from one mainline to another and back again, consider separating the 4 switches (2 on each side of the layout).  This also gives you the opportunity to Park a train and have a run around.

This is a sample with O-72 and O-80 curves which space nicely with the #6's.  These are 12 inch boxes.

This is a section of my layout using the #6's.
