I just today started playing around with the SCARM software. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks so this will probably be a easy question for you guys, probably right in front of me but danged if I can think of it so here goes:

When designing with Lionel Standard Gauge Track...the first three pieces listed are 7" 2T and 14" 4T and 14" 6T.

What is the difference between 14" 4T and 14" 6T?

What does the "T" stand for (Ties?)

Probably the first of many foolish questions!

Hello Mark,

Yes, "T" stands for number of the ties in USA Track LLC Standard Gauge (2-1/8” gauge) library in SCARM.

So "2T" means 2 ties for that track.

Note that SCARM shows auto-generated ties in the drawings and the number of the ties in SCARM tracks does not always corresponds to the ties count in the actual tracks.

Thank you Mixy! I sure appreciate the reply. I had a feeling it was referring to the ties but at the same time I was trying to figure out why in the design process it would matter how many ties there were but I know down the road it will matter and I wasn't thinking of that. I'm also early in the process and simply trying to learn the program but where I'm at right now it wasn't showing any ties which had me thinking it might be something else. Makes perfect sense though, Thank you!

Mixy...That "T" key trick is pretty cool! I'm pretty certain you're talking to the most tech challenged guy on the internet and I'd have never thought of that. I did watch a couple starting tutorials and even with what little I have done with the program I'm truly amazed at what it can do. I will most definately watch more of the video tutorials as time allows. Thanks!

Have you ever noticed there just aren't enough hours in a day :-)
