Good morning, everyone!
I have been searching hobby shops, home centers and the Kadee website for small-headed screws to attach Atlas Andrews trucks to my rolling stock, to no avail. Many of you might remember the old Athearn boxcar kits had a spring that went between the attaching screw and the bottom of the truck bolster for tension. Can't find that either. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I found the springs and screws at my local hardware. I purchased a spring that was longer than needed and cut them to fit. I order most all my screws from www.microfasteners.com . I did find the 4-40 screws at the hardware but they are pricey there.

Try microfasteners for screws, washers, etc. I don't know about springs though.

the spring that fit good is the one found in some cheap pens.

I just replaced the broken spring in my 151 semaphore with a pen spring. Yes, they work.

A good source for a variety of springs is a true electronics shop, not Radio Shack. Apparently small springs are used in some kinds of electronic components.
I can go to Ace Electronics in Houston with a part and try a variety of springs for fit and function.

I purchase a lot of hardware on line from McMaster Carr. Try them. They deliver fast.

I never throw anything away that has any electronics in it without stripping it of screws, springs, motors, etc. Old VCRs were a gold mine for small parts.
