The six Melbourne Streetcars are leaving town. And Seattle/King County will not tell us who they sold them to.

The walls have been cut out in the Warehouse where they have been stored for 5+ years.

I hope whoever ends up with them doesn't turn their backs on them like the City of Seattle and King County did.

Yes, the Detroit Department of Street Railways (DSR) did sell essentially their entire fleet of streetcars to Mexico City in 1956 but I believe they were PCC’s, one of which is in the photo below.

The city and county have stated in the local newspaper that the street cars have no value. What else is interesting is that they are currently installing the city's second modern street car line. This second line starts at one Sound Transit link light rail station and ends at another station ( short walk ) on the same line!

Yet they sold them and got something and won't reveal to whom or for what? Maybe it's the local ambiance down at the waterfront that's covering up that smell of fish from Denmark
