Shortage of Atlas Turnouts Again??

I believe the container of track comes in once a year in October.

What was the response from Atlas when you emailed them about your dilemma?

Well I been trying to get turnouts from Micromark & they're ALWAYS BACKORDERED from their supplier. This has been going on for over a year&I called to see if they were just getting out of O Scale & they said,"no," it's just backordered & they weren't sure what the problem was.

I also have tried checking Norm's O scale & if you want #5s you're supposed to call for availability. So I thought after being out of supply for so long that possibly many modelers bought in a rush & the supply got short again.

Haven't called Atlas yet. I'd buy from the place in Michigan, O Scale Turnouts,I think is the name,but Micromark is selling at $65.95 for #5s & $69.95 for #7.5s & for someone on no budget except what I can sell of my HO,'beggers can't be choosers."

Have you checked with signature switch?  Just a little more at $75 for a #8 and $70 for a #6. 

Try Signature Switch Company (http://www.signatureswitchco.com). They're price-competitive with Atlas and make a nicer looking turnout. Another one is O Scale Turnouts (http://www.oscaleturnouts.com) -- a bit more expensive. Atlas has raised the price of their turnouts to roughly $90. Both make turnouts in code 148 to match Atlas or Micro Engineering track.

Two good alternatives are "O Scale Turnouts" and "Signature Switch".  I have been very satisfied with both.

Atlas has a bunch of track stuff due in this month, if it's not arriving already? I am 3 rail and that is all I was watching so I don't know about their 2 rail. I would guess they make them all the O gauge track items at the same time though, but I don't know for certain?

I have been buying O Scale turnouts for a few years now.   More expensive than Atlas, but a much better product.  Just my opinion.
