Need ideas for my next layout.

Hi david1,
I give thanks to Frank53 for this space saving yard design. Four tracks in ~ 18". Great for a peninsula or anywhere. PS-I didn't add any power blocks to this, just grabbed the design quickly one day.
Your design is very similar to mine.
On the ladder portion, I substituted RH switches for your LH and used 1/4 o36 curve sections. This made traversing the ladder much more smooth with less wibbly-wobbly-ness.
Thank you. Still some work to do.
I'm afraid I'm gonna have to tear everything down soon so I can install new lights so I can see and work better at night.
Thanks guys for the ideas, flash and moonman, your yards look really good. Anybody out there used O60 or O72 for their yards.

My Yard uses nothing but O-72 LH, RH, & Wye Switches, with O-60 Curves & O-72 Half Curves.
I have modified it a few times recently to try and create more options for staging both Rolling Stock & Motive Power.
Here is my most recent revision:
Dimensions of Layout Section: 11 Ft Long by 6 Ft Wide.
Disclaimer: Created using RailModeler, but for some reason RailModeler does not scale fastrack correctly. However, this does provide a fairly accurate representation of my yard.

Here mine. I just finished realigning my yard. Once I elevate the main line track at the end of the yard. I will be able to eliminate the S Curve and extend the remaining siding. I have to work with the room I have. Yes it dose snow in Tampa.

This is my one way freight yard. I have to back my trains in! I have a 2 track yard and a 2 track engine service facility for steam. The mainline runs around the 4 tracks to the yard and service facility. The yard track curves are O36 and O42. The mainline is O72 curves.

Just starting some wiring today. Finally have something which meets my criteria and fits within space I have.
Reversing loop
Space for a Station and a couple of passenger trains(lower center)
A few freight lines.
A train yard work area(upper right)
And a small tank yard with possibly a few buildings(upper left)
Length is 20' by 4' with the last 8' 6' wide.

Nice design Bill!
What track are you using? I like the long sidings.
Ed
Thanks Ed. Fastrack all 36 curves except the loop on the left 36;48;48;48;36.I may drop the wye siding down to the next switch to make the sidings little longer.
Bill
This is my layout. The yard is in the upper left...just a small three track yard that uses O72 switches. I don't have it included yet on my actual layout yet. When I add it, it will tie into the large passing siding(grey track) at top. That siding will also serve as a yard lead for building trains.
Ed, I'd like to try yours but with O72 instead of O36. Of course it will take up more real estate.

Keith,
on your grid, what is the size of each block?
thanks,
dave
Rack block is 1 foot. So, loops take up 8'x14'. Outer loop is O72 and inner loop is O60.
