i just had a custom yankee stadium built 

I am trying to put a small speaker behind the stadium, so that a visitor on my layout could push a button and it would trigger the final winning hit from the game.

is their a way to do this 

I have already recorded the audio from you tube

Cool idea.

This just popped into my head: Hallmark Cards, at least at one point in the past, sold "recordable" greeting cards.  The person buying one could take it home, record an audio greeting, then send or hand the card off as they would a normal card.  Upon receiving it the person who opened this special card would hear the greeting.

If you could find one of these, and take it apart, I'm sure that the electronics inside would accomplish exactly what you're looking to do.  It would be at minimal cost, and to customize it for your layout you could add an extension pushbutton to activate it remotely, in place of its existing card-open/close switch.

 

 

There is no provision in the Hallmark cards for recording the stadium sound effect into it via a line input, which is what the OP really should do.  The Audio quality in the Hallmark cards - if you can find one - is very poor, due to the ultra cheap microphone element and speaker they use.

The better way to record and store a sound effect for triggered on-demand playback is to get a digital recording chip kit, which I reference  in my post in this thread:

As I note in it, you should also plan on running the audio output through a set of small computer speakers,  Those can still often be found at either garage/yard sales or --if your community does electronic device recycling-- by rummaging through the drop off piles at it.

You should be able to use an ISD1700 module, there are several versions available from eBay from $5 to $15 (look the same).

This one records & playbacks for up to 60 seconds, "ISD1700 Series Voice Record Player ISD1760 Module for AVR PIC Arduino uno r3 256" is $5.32 + $1.85 shipping. You DO NOT have to use an Arduino.  Instructions and features at bottom of listing.

I used the module by itself with a separate speaker for this scratch-built Jug Band. A push button switch on the fascia of the layout to starts it, and two limit switches cycle it .
