It works for both AC and DC powered trains. 

I used it on our rather large Christmas village display....Dept 56 Snow Village...featuring a Bachmann On30 Christmas Trolley rambling through the town, multiple stops, stopping/reversing at each end.  Absolutely flawless operation.  And it replaced an earlier circuit that relied on infrared detection....a nightmare to keep adjusted due to variations in ambient room lighting!  The Dallee circuit does not rely on ambient lighting.  Rather its detection is based solely on current flow.....MUCH more reliable.

Dallee also has a version of this circuit that has some momentum effects on either side of the station stop.  I can't comment on any firsthand use of this circuit.

But, Dallee is a quality, supportive product line.  They are always there in Orange Hall at the York meets.  Dallas is a friendly, helpful, supportive provider of electronic products for our hobby.

Thanks Much for info,   We have a mix of Dept 56 and Lemax Lighted window village.  It keeps expanding and we leave it up for a couple months.  Using MTH stuff and it has been good.  Just need to have better control for stops.  The prog features of MTH are OK but have limitations when trying to replicate fixed stops and such.
