We’re looking to add some action to the middle of our layout. I considered doing an elevated subway car track but a used MTH streetcar might look pretty cool.

Are there any other options aside from E-Z street or SuperStreet tracks? If not, are there any quality issues with either? It looks like superstreets is discontinued butt less expensive and E-Z streets looks to be available new but more expensive.

im just looking to make a small loop around a couple blocks of buildings and maybe add a switch to a garage for the streetcar depending on what I can find or make.

I did what you are planning.  I wanted to you the kline product but the only switch available at the time was a Y switch, limiting options.  I buried the visible 027 track in foamboard and used 027 manual switches.  These can be cut easily if you remove the metal base to obtain a look that is more like that of a car barn.

EZ Streets and superstreet have advantages that they offer small diameter curves (smaller than even O27) and of course they look like streets the way they are made. Depending on your space, O27 may even be too big for what you are trying to do (I don't know how much space you have). You could also look at what 2 rail O scale modelers use for traction layouts, if they have any narrow radius/diameter curve tracks, add a third rail to the middle of the same type, and use that. The downside is that scale track like that and the flanges on MTH trolleys or the like might not be compatible.
