One of the attributes of styrene is that it easy to train. About 3 hrs of this on the dowel in a warm sunny window and the curvature will be just right for the dyno car roof.

Brother Love, good information. Any chance that the material will retreat some percentage from it's new shape back to the original? What thickness is the piece that you were working with?
I am going to try this on my eye glasses frame (cable frame). I hung them on a large dowel rod for 6 months and they didn't budge. Maybe the sunlight will provide encouragement.
I use a bath of warm water to "train" styrene. Works well and is faster than sun baked methods. Another good method is the wife's blow dryer. I use just about all of them depending on what I am doing
