Not sure if it would cause the whole circuit to go dark or not, but I'd remove that new bulb and remove it from the holder (carefully un-bend the wires where they exit the bottom of the holder, then gently pull the bulb and holder apart) to make sure the conductors aren't twisted together inside the base.  (or try putting an ohm meter on it without disassembling to make sure it's not shorted, but that can be difficult since the bulb itself will show some relatively low value resistance)

Since it's not tripping the breaker, it's probably not a short.  Top suspect is the contact springs on the end of the car aren't connecting to those PCB pads.

Are you putting it on the right way?  I can't see the springs in the video, but that may be because the picture is so fuzzy.

A couple of clear shots of the contacts on both sides would probably tell us what we need to know.
