Suggestions to make this 4x8 fit with O-31

Before and after: I took out a crossover which seemed redundant, and made the outer oval more concentric with compound curves. The outer oval now has O36 minimum curves with O48 easements. Switches are changed to mostly O36 instead of O31. The tightest curves are O31 and it fits on a 4x8 table with adequate space around the edges.

Atlas track looks good, and has O27 curves.  They don't have O27 switches, but I'd use O36 switches anyway as it'll allow for smoother changes.

EDIT:  So here is a direct take using Atlas.  Sure, SCARM shows several places it doesn't connect, but having worked with Atlas track I know that it flexes enough that you can connect all the joints and it'll work just fine.

   I always look at these type of threads because you always have some seriously great track designs to help this guys complete their layouts, great stuff, and now Sinclair is joining in with his beautiful engineering work  also. This is just another reason this OGR forum is so fantastic!

Yes, Ace is the "ace" at smaller track designs, and looks like Sinclair is joining that lofty group of guys as well. Great small designs.

As shown in Ace's reworking, the "bump" on the upper right qudrant doesn't seem to add much to me, so it seems good to remove it.   Just a suggestion about the siding in the left:  It is possible that keeping it curved as Sinclair has shown may give you space for one more car, and that can be valuable if your friend will enjoy operations. The trade-off is it bisects the space evenly but that's not necessarily bad for scenery.

I ended up merging some of Ace's "easement curves" and also removed 1 switch as well and came up with this solution. I moved the crossover from the "city" side to the opposite side just to break it up.
