We are French Woods Camp in Hancock, New York and we have jobs for O Gauge Railroaders! We have a large Lionel and MTH O Gauge layout 40’ X 20’ feet. It encompasses extensive landscapes, buildings and operates multiple trains and accessories. We are seeking individuals who enjoy working with children and exhibit the patience to work with young people interested in the hobby and who enjoy “playing with trains”.
French Woods is located on a private lake in the western Catskills of New York State, just 120 miles from New York City, 30 miles south east of Binghamton and 50 miles north west of Scranton. Children from throughout the United States and around the world participate in our program.
In anticipation of another successful summer in 2013, we are seeking staff applications throughout the Unites States and the world. We offer a competitive salary, room and board. We can accommodate families. Most staff members double as cabin counselors and live with a group of ten children. Our season runs from June 1 – August 26, 2013. We operate four distinct 3-week sessions. The individual we seek must possess a solid knowledge of electrical wiring to complete our multiline yard, switching areas and attach operating accessories. Our Model Hobbies Program is one of the largest programs at a children’s summer camp in the world. Opportunities are unlimited for creative, eager and knowledgeable O Gauge Railroaders.
