I've got a Sunset RDC-2 in plastic. I need an RDC-1 to go with it. Only ones I see for sale are the brass versions. How well do the finishes match?

I have two SS RDC cars of each material. Perhaps a nit picker would rattle their jaw but the blend is fine by me.
No one has ever made a comment as to which ones are of what material. Nothing that most folks would notice.
When you see prototype SS passenger cars in a row there are discernible differences car to car.
We modelers can sometimes want stuff lined up better than real life.
Thanks Tom. Thought the brass ones might have been plated and then would not be a good match. I continue to look for an RDC-1.
Scotie;
3rd Rail recently announced another run of RDC’s. Not sure what line you are looking for, but you may want to check it out. I have the opposite problem… I have a NH RDC1 and have recently placed an order for the RCD2.
I am aware of the RDCs coming from 3rd Rail. I need LIRR which if there were decals is only adding the lettering on an undecorated car. Of course there are no decals for Long Island RDCs but at least its just black.
I've got two reasons for considering a used brass unit to go with my plastic one. It would be cheaper and Scott's not doing LIRR. The main reason is I'd like to have this sooner rather than later (80 at my last birthday) as it's a very meaningful train for me. The LIRR ran the pair as the Bablylon Scoot and my father took me on a round trip as I loved trains even then.

Off the specific topic, but the latest issue of the "Keystone" had an excellent article on the LIRR Scoot and the RDCs. It might be of interest for you to purchase that issue.
On the topic I still have two undecorated RDCs from the last run and decals to do them in CNJ, however now that CNJ is on the list, I will likely order a factory painted one.
If you have an RDC-1 2 rail might you be interested in selling?

One is two rail and the other is three rail, but I was planning on keeping the two rail one and decaling it for CNJ as originally planned. I just don't know when I'll get one of those "round tuits". I originally purchased the three rail one for sale to a friend, but I never got the decaling done so he has a CNJ one from this run on order. I may paint that one for Amtrak.

I have a brass one and it is definitely plated.
