Sunset E7 Stirrup steps

Wondering if anyone every came to a resolution for the truck mounted steps on the E7's? I did some digging around and found a thread about the FP7's and someone mentioned E7 steps. Anyone have a real life experience fixing these to the body/frame?

Beautiful engine BTW, makes me nervous thinking about cutting into it. This of course leads to the above question.

I have 72" R curves and I don't notice it at all.
