Swafford Series.............Presenting the Norfolk Southern Heritage Diesel Locomotives

We already know that the diagram for the old Southern Railway above is wrong; they've already got it on the road and it's painted in the manner of the early passenger units - the EMD E6s and the Alco DL109s.

Frank as always great job! I love seeing your paintings! I think I especially like your designs for the NW and Southern A LOT more than what NS decided to use....maybe its not too late to change their minds!!!

Nice work Frank, but on a personal note, I'm glad Norfolk-Southern is going for Cornell Red on the Lehigh Valley unit.  I suppose they're not doing New Haven because there are already so many engines in variants of that scheme.

I like the Lehigh Valley in the Cornell Red too. I like them all! I was getting tried of seeing the same old color schemes on the Class I’s.

How about adding the can opener to the CR unit?  It looks bare w/o it.

Swafford, I respectfully suggest that the colors are lacking on the Wabash unit.  There is way too much yellow. 

 

Take a look at this FM unit. The Wabash slogan was follow the flag.  I also suggest you add a flag.

 

The later simplified Wabash paint scheme had little yellow.
