Switch radius | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I packed up the old layout a few years ago prior to moving from PA to NC. Finally getting ready to create a new layout. I had a computer crash a few years ago and lost the RR-Trak plan for my then current layout. I have started to inventory my switches (among other things) and had an OS moment. I realized that i have no idea what the radii of my switches are and have no track plan to go back to. Almost all of my switches are Curtis and include straight and curved switches.

Anyone know of a site with switch templates or an accurate way to measure the radii? I will need this information as I start working with RR-Trak on a new layout.

Can't help with your question, but Frank Curtis and Steve Ross were, at one time, competitors and then became partners. It's possible that Steve has Curtis switch info so give him a call if you haven't already done so.

The curved switches should match with some of your curves. Position a curve on top of a switch, that closely matches the switch curve.

There are switch templates (pdf) on the Ross website.
