TCA Manufacturers Fall 2018 Presentations Are Up

Thanks Rusty for linking these here. I always watch the manufacturer presentations as there is always some sort of information to be gleaned from these.

It was nice to hear Ryan (at the 9:55 mark) acknowledge that while the high end trains get all the attention - very true also on this particular forum - t is the starter set line that keeps Lionel in business. It's wonderful to see Lionel acknowledge the silent majority and do some new locomotive tooling in this line.

It was also interesting to hear Jack Lynch of Bachmann speak along similar lines during the beginning 6 minutes of his presentation with reference to the Thomas the Tank trains making it possible to make the other trains. No doubt the same is true for Lionel, that it is the traditional line of trains that really keeps them in business, even today.

It was also probably somewhat disappointing to those in attendance, to hear Jack Lynch spell out why they don't do more brand new items in 3-rail 0. His reference to selling a couple hundred FP40's is right in line with what everyone else says as far high end production numbers.

As far as Mike Wolf and MTH, I really prefer the TrainWorld presentations. Maybe Mike has a fear of public speaking as many do.  But he just seems so much more relaxed and energetic in the TrainWorld interviews. The Spring 2018 video could turn me into an MTH customer, save for the fact their Rugged Rails line must not be doing that well for MTH since they've dropped it, save for sometimes throwing a RR car into a train set.

That video was not only informative, but very entertaining. No doubt both Bianco's and Mike were having fun, and it came across in the video.
