Uses MTH ScaleTrax. I kick myself for not going this route. I would probably still have it today...

8' X20'- that's pretty nice. You don't have to use any certain brand of track to build it. I'd use Ross, but I'm sure you could get any brand to work. Build it!
This one was designed with Scaletrax in mind. I prefer the look over Ross, but RCS has such variety that it could be made even better using the curved turnouts and such. Sadly, I built a different 20x8 that I didn't like much and it was removed. 12x8 of the benchwork still survives and is being converted into My son's layout here:
I also like you track plan. Very nice flow that will support the big locos. I noticed that you could consider adding a cross-over connection at the top of the layout to create a reverse loop.
Should be a good layout for scenery but... will you be able to view the layout from one side only (the side with the station?). Perhap an access in the middle of the inner loop on the right side could also be used for viewing the layout from different angles? Raise the layout a bit, and use a rolling office-chair to roll under the layout to the access area. Perhaps the access area could be sceniced as a lake, and just leave it open. Would be an awesome location for train-watching.

This is also my present quandry...I love the "scale" look of the MTH but the curved Ross turnouts would allow me to replicate a focal point of my plan..meaning going the Ross/Gargraves route. I can scenic/paint larger rail to look smaller but I fear that every time I look at that junction approach will bother me...especially standing next to the real thing.
After seeing the troubles CSXTroy has with his Ross, I don't think I would ever consider going that route now. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes and I don't like what I see with Ross. I would rather have a solid rail like Atlas or Scaletrax. Having said that, I'm having decent success with Fastrack and I'm over $3k invested to this point so there is probably no turning back now. I just wish Lionel would add some curved turnouts.
