Getting out of the attic and into a new addition. I will be looking for lots of advice.

Bigger is better.
Ooh, I like that - it has so many possibilities.
John,
Congratulations! Soon you may complain for more room again . All I can say is, "Fill Er Up".
"Pappy"
Enjoy the ride.
This was nice. That will be nicer. Congratulations on negotiating a new right of way lease... or was this a purchase?
Congrats on the relocation!!!
And that's some nice looking Lynn Westcott L-girder benchwork.
Thanks for all the encouraging words. I bit the bullet and put a 20X30 addition on our garage last April and finished the inside bit by bit. Last winter was not much "fun" on the dairy farm where I work, so I negotiated the winter off. I'll go back at corn planting time and work the summer and fall. Now it's train time. Pingman, you're right on on the benchwork. I have the 1980 edition of his book in front of me all the time. The table is a 7' U shape around the room, 20' long. I had to leave room for a treadmill for you know who and a workbench opposite that. I don't have a track plan set yet. I have the older version of RRTrack, but never really mastered it. I'll post a couple of possibles and look for reaction from the gurus I so much enjoy on this forum.

that'll be great. I'd love to expand, but it would involve a backhoe to dig out the rest of the basement.

AND a lot of $$. If you're like me, you'd rather spend it on more trains.
without question! but, (and I'll deny ever saying this) I'm running out of room. Time to get creative and build more shelves. Ohio winters aren't THAT cold, that dang furnace keeps getting in the way.....
That looks like an adventure! Have fun and keep us posted.

All finished with "this" and going full time on "that". I have attached the track plan I am using as a base. I have to modify the right side of the U because my U is 7' on both sides. I have 18" around the outside and 2' in the center. I don't have a turntable, but would like to work in a yard on that side. I am hoping to use O-72 and O-60 in place of the O-84 and O-72 on that side. I am using Fastrack because I have plenty from the old layout. I will greatly appreciate any advice, comments, or help with changing the right side.
