I ‘m trying to sell a TMCC/Railsounds engine, and I have a question. Can features and programming done thru TMCC, carry over into conventional, and, like DCS, be unable to be undone in conventional? Thanks for reading.

Mark, be more specific. What "features" are you programming in TMCC?
I don’t have TMCC, John. The last time this engine was used was at a club with DCS, and it was run successfully there. I’m wondering if any programming changes which may have been made at that time would carry over.
Mark I am confused. Your opening question was about a TMCC Engine you had and rail sounds but after being asked by Gunrunnerjohn you replied you do not have a TMCC ENGINE. Very confusing statements.
That is incorrect. I said I don’t have TMCC. I do not have a command set up. I have neither the base nor the handheld controller. The engine does have TMCC. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
I believe the question is along the lines of if command control is used to set a setting (ie. turn off a smoke unit) with a software switch, how can the settings be reset without a command control interface.

It will run in conventional. Most TMCC engines have switches to allow you to turn smoke on and off and sound on and off plus a volume pot. They are there for conventional running.

First sentence. "I am trying to sell a TMCC/Railssounds engine."
Looks like you have a TMCC Engine. Guess I must have bad eyes. As for turning off the TMCC Features you should have switches to control smoke and railsounds. I only have one TMCC Engine and it has switches to turn those off so it runs in conventional.I believe Norton also said he thinks that will work. DCS you do not need to turn anything off but you can control volume and turn off smoke. It can also be done via the horn and whistle buttons.
The engine will run in conventional. What I am not sure of, since I never tried it, is if the engine had smoke and sounds turned off with the handheld will they operate when you go to conventional. That is the key question. If not it may have to be put on a track with TMCC to turn those features back on before the switches will have an effect.
Easiest way to find out is just run it.

Thank you, Brian. Exactly!
I just checked a tmcc engine, I turned smoke off in tmcc and ran it in conventional, it did start smoking.
On a side note, I have a lionchief engine that if the smoke is turned off in bluetooth with the Lionel App, it won't smoke if a lionchief controller is used afterwards. I never ran the Lionchief in conventional so I don't know if it would start smoking with smoke turned off in bluetooth.
