Hi what is the best way to mont track on a peice of plywood.the AF trainsset is from the 50s Should I use screw or tacks on monting the track the track Im monting is vintage metal track thst came with the set I have bought more track to make a big lay out

First, have you considered using a roadbed (cork, vinyl, rubber, foam, etc.) rather than mounting directly to plywood ?
On PostWar American Flyer track, I'd drill a hole in a tie on every other section and screw down to plywood with 3/8 inch long #4 screws.
I do the same if using Flyer's rubber roadbed (great stuff, also reproduced, not hard to find on EBAY or swap meets) except I use 1/2 inch # 4 screws
Why not on just ply wood would conveyor belt work I kind of tap cause virus work is slow
Tinplate track mounted directly on plywood is very noisy.
Conveyor belt would work.
