I have a rather simple question I thought I'd ask before I make a purchase.  I am thinking of purchasing a Lionel Southern Crescent set which I believe the catalog suggests using an 054 curve.  My layout is Fastrack and I am using 048 curve tracks & I have five 048 switches.  Will the engine & passenger cars run or will they bind?  The set is in great condition and I have always liked it but would want to run it.  Thanks for the help.

It is a very nice set and a beautiful train. It would look awkward on O48 with the overhang of the cars.  I would have say it would not run reliably 100% of time. Put up a new post on "anyone have this set - 6-31713?" and ask them.

The set really wants O72. The train is 8' long and with the 2 add-on cars almost 12' long. An 8' x 20' layout would be nice for it.
