transition 027 to O fastrack

I am not sure that you need the pins If you have power to both sides of the gap like a oval the power is on both sides of the gap. Just make sure that the tracks are aligned. If I am wrong maybe someone else will chime in .

You don't have to join them. Power will be on both sides of the gap.

If there is no power put two jumpers from bottom of o27 to tabs on fastback pos and ground

You can do this by starting with three "O" pins, and grind one end(to the half way point) of each 3/4 of the way around to match the diameter of the O-27 track pins/openings.

 

If you instead grind them to the center, there will be a significant "bump" at the transition.

 

For an example of this "offset" method, look closely at the GarGraves "O" & O-27 adapter pins:

 

 

You could use a half-section of O gauge track to provide additional transition; just remove the O gauge pins and then bring the O27 track to the correct height.

thanks to you all for your many suggestions. I have a lot of 027 and was just trying to use it in my layout, but, I have decided to go all Fastrack and settle it once and for all. I do appreciate your help and have learned a lot from the discussion.
