Trouble with Atlas O siding

The turnout/curve combination is about .67" beyond the end of the 10" straight. Best shot is to figure out the length you need for your siding and fill that with fixed straights, then cut down a long straight on the mainline. What length were you looking at for the siding as I can do a quick calculation. E-mail in profile.

Michael - There are many great sidings that would require that you cut the piece to fit.  That is very easy to do and makes anything possible.  When I started laying the Atlas track on my fairly large layout, I tried doing it with all stock pieces and quickly realized that it wasn't going to work.  Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

Here's what I was talking about. Basically, you need ONE cut-to-length straight at 11.33 inches to compensate for the offset caused by the curves.

If its that close, I'd stick a 1.25" straight in the main line and just let the extra fraction just fudge itself out. If you don't want to cut track, thats probably the easiest way. 

You're right. Forgot about the 1.25" sections. That's what I get for being so caboose-retentive.

Here are two solutions to your problem that do not involve cutting.  The maximum gap is  0.08".  I've also included a file of the track pieces to fill various gaps.

Custom, Cut-to-Length, pieces can be done with the 6057 end tie pieces.
