I am hoping to expand upwards to a second level. I have enough room to make the grade to a second level and have them connected, but just because I can does not mean that I should. I'd be grateful to anyone sharing opinions on better/worse, more fun/less fun, harder/easier, or absolutely neutral!

Well a diagram of your current track plan would be helpful. Sometimes adding a second level can introduce a degree of clutter or view blocking that was not intended. If the second level fits without being distracting then go for it but if you can let's see the starting point.

Agreed. You will have to think some things out before you take the plunge. Grade percent, lower track clearances, lighting, reach zones, scenery....

Adding another level will increase the action... good luck!
