I would like to combine 042 curves and 027 to complete an oval loop of track. If I understand correctly, the 042 curves,12 pieces to a circle, are 30 degrees each, the 027 curves, 8 pieces to a circle, are 45 degrees so each 180 degree end of the loop would require 2 042 pieces, 60 degrees, 2 027 pieces, 90 degrees and 2/3 piece of 027, 30 degrees. My question is about arrangement of the curves. I suspect I should use the 042 sections entering the curves to ease the transition to 027 pieces with the 2/3 piece of 027 being at the apex of the curve. Is this correct? Or should the sharper 027 pieces lead into the curve with the 042s at the apex which would require 2 1/3 sections of 027 instead of a single 2/3 piece of 027?
