Using Two Track Systems

I have stated why I haven't cared for FasTrack several times. However, I must admit that its appearance is growing on me. But I still really like the traditional look of standard Lionel tubular O. Has anyone here integrated both track types on to one layout, and how did you determine on which areas to use each system?

Fastrack does have transition pieces from Fastrack to tubular. So I'm sure it's being done by some folks....

I made transition pieces and used tubular track in tunnels and staging areas. I had so much tubular, I could not justify spending more money on fastrack that would not be seen.

I use Marx metal tubular track switches with my Fastrak. Eliminates many issues of early locomotives drivers not being able to pass through the Fastrak switches.
