After almost a decade of life. I started a layout in Feb of this year. It is 25x25. 3 non connected levels. The bottom has a 4 track main and the second and third are single track.

Very impressive! Keep up the great progress! JohnA
I hope that all of your engineers are qualified. They could easily get lost on your interesting layout. Can you post the overall track plan?
Very good Thanks for posting
Wow! That is one heck of a layout! Very nice!
LOL that first video threw me. It looked the the train was approaching an open gap in the loop but it's 2 switches end to end.
Looks like a good start with a lot of room!

Thank you Todd. That is going to be a very impressive, and interesting, layout. Are they Reading diesels pulling that freight?
Yes Lionel FA from Nicholas Smith Trains.
Video is not like being there, huh, but it’s close.
I appreciate you sharing what’s going on right now @toddstrick
You feel at this point pretty doggone good and I know why
you love trains😋
Toddstrick - you have an incredible amount of landscaping to do. Kind of curious, it looked like you had track on green foam and then on other places on plywood. Are you going to put all the track on anything sound deadening? I was surprised at the sound coming off the video until I saw the other track on wood. Is it not too bad when you are in the room?
No the sound isn't bad at. Just on big pieces of foam. I like the train noise though.
I changed to foam after plywood prices went up
Todd, looks like a great start. I hope you enjoy the rest of the build as it's to be fun! Keep us posted.
That is impressive - the levels, once sceniced should enable a fantastic journey. How did you manage to keep the track secured to the foam?
I used 1.5 long number 4 screws from Amazon. They hold and do get tight when screwed in slowly to top of the tie.
That's a mighty nice looking layout, Todd!! I completely understand switching to thick foam after plywood prices went through the roof!! I'll look forward to seeing your ongoing progress.
