Weekend tinplate photos/videos 8/3/17!

Following up on last week's photos I'm attaching 4 photos which will in total show Hornby passenger and freight stations, a Cabo station,a small Bing station,a KBN station, a Chein station, 3 Kibri stations--two of which are relatively new--and a Lionel 115 re-run station and  original platforms.  See if you can find them.

 Note the item clipped to the engine hand rail is a brass JEP tag. I wrapped it up so it would not scratch the engine finish.

Some more trains from LR, a pre war 020 T loco 

The last model of the "boite à sel" more simple than the first ones,no handrails.

The famous BB 0401 from the fifties,

And in its final years, tinplate was gone, LR produced a diesel type loco for switching but now the body was plastic and it tends to wrap after sixty years. Nice little model and end of LR in 1955....

A very nice set; I thought JEP only had the streamlined 4-4-4 in sets with streamlined cars, but found in the books, as you might know, it was very shortly, in 1937, delivered with the cars (5771B and 5771V) in your set. So it is 80 years old and looking like new!

Märklin made a number of different crane trcuks and also a lot of accessories with cranes like gantry cranes and loading docks with cranes. A Dutch collector wrote an 120 page book only on Märklin cranes:

I have two Märklin 0 gauge crane trucks, the first made from 1925-1940, the second made from 1939-1954 (the older one in better condition than the newer one, which is missing its smoke-stack):

This week I took everything off my layout and cleaned it. Takes about 2days. Nice and shiny  again.

Ives used this style of truck from 1910 through 1916.  I believe that my cars come from 1916.  Imagine 100 years old!  Many of our tinplate trains will be reaching the century mark before too long.

Greg J.Turinetti I always enjoy seeing photos of your wonderful collection, as well, photos of everyone that posts pictures on this thread. Weekend Tinplate Photos - Videos is actually one of my favorites here. I've purchased some Lionel Tinplate 600 series passenger cars recently. They need some work, one is missing a wheel set, another it's journal box covers. I used to be in HO, but, my eye sight isn't like it used to be, even with glasses. So, when I got back into this hobby I chose O scale. You all pretty much got me into Tinplate here. I never was very interested before I joined this group it seems, so thanks to all of you for showing me your Tinplate!

Its good to have you here with us. This is by far my favorite thread here too. I look forward to Chris starting the thread each week.  I have been led astray from my beloved American Flyer trains by the postings here.  I have expended into Ives and Marx (and there are some Lionel items in the Northwoods Flyer Collection too).  The contributions from our overseas friends have been very tempting.  So far I have resisted, but I learn something new every week.  I think you will find that more and more Tinplate will start to "follow you home".

It has already started! I find myself looking for Tinplate on ebay and on other sites. Lionel, Ives, American Flyer, Dorfan, I even find the clock work locomotives temping to buy, they look to be a lot of fun. I have learned a lot from others here just in the short time since I joined this group! Again, thanks to you and everyone that shares their knowledge and photos here, it's very inspiring!

thanks, I was after a 2660 with the nickel plate, but found a cheap 2560. I'll get around to the 2660 sooner or later.

   Thanks for the information about the JEP set.  I bought it many years ago from the family of the original owner and at the time I had zero knowledge about JEP.  In the years since I've seen the 4-4-4 in various passenger sets and all of them were the streamlined cars.  I began to wonder about the set I had but I since all of the pieces fit perfectly into their respective sections of the train box and since I had purchased it from an original owner I just decided it was some kind of lesser known set that JEP had made at some point...and it sounds like that is exactly what it is - thanks again.
