Great project, thanks for the pictures I had done this Yard layout, Fort Pitt Highrailers. A (Curtis) Ross (4) track lead, a couple of 105's, and a couple, of double slips. There has been discussion about a double end yard with an engine work-around.
It looks like you have some room next to your mainline way at the back of your photo; why not increase the length of your yard lead?

Or a track switch (just before the [short] yard lead joins the mainline) connecting to a long yard lead paralleling the Main heading away from the camera.
