How many of you, fellow forumers , are ordering train stuff online? I think it could be helpful for some of us who don't have a train dealer near their home to know where and why to order from some online dealer.

I live in France, and we don't have any American O gauge dealer here, so I have to buy my train stuff online, for now, I buy my locomotives on Ebay (nowhere else to find what I want)and on this forum ( I had some great deal here) but for my rolling stock, track, accessories I order my stuff at modeltrainstuff.com, the shop is really well done, fast and easy to browse, prices are ok and the shipping fees are low (compare to some others) and the delivery is really fast , even to europe.

and you ?

where do you order online and why?

Hi pidjy;

You already have one of the better sources for ordering on-line. But I'm sure that others will offer their opinions based on their experiences. Sometimes, it depends on what you are looking for, too.
One that I would recommend is Sidetrack Hobbies in Leonardtown, MD. They are excellent folks to deal with and they tend to have a good selection of the hard to find items.
I like modeltrainstuff.com. I've gotten some good prices from them (my grandma recommended them after buying me some stuff for christmas the last couple years). They ship fast and, in my case anyway, the customer service was great.

And I just read your post a little more carefully and realized that you liked them too Big Grin

I like M.B. Klein as well. Their website, modeltrainstuff.com was one of the first I recall seeing with a real time on-line inventory. For Atlas and Ross/Gargraves, I usually deal with Bob at amhobbiesonline.com
