Kalmbach's Command Control for Toy Trains (second edition, pp 20-21) that the Lionel Powermaster or TPC in conventional mode puts out a "chopped" waveform with the high and low ends of the sine wave chopped off, and open frame motors (Pullmor or prewar either one) respond better to that waveform at low speeds. Since I have a Pride Lines City of Denver expanded with two B units and eight cars drawing 8-9 amps or more under load at 18-20 volts, and also want to use my DCS remote for as many TMCC system uses as possible, this question: can I use my DCS remote to control conventional trains via a 15-amp capacity Lionel TCP 300, so I can enjoy the advantages of the Lionel TPC/Powermaster waveform with those three open frame motors and still use that one DCS remote?
Thanks, cnwdon
