I have two Lionel Dash9's 6-18253 and 6-18252 they both had the same problems at the same time. It seams to be a communication issue. In areas of the layout they both respond well, but beyond 10 feet of the command base they become unresponsive. If I hold my hand over the locomotive they will respond to TMCC commands. These are the only two engines which have this problem. All of my other engines run fine. I opened each up and no problems were revealed. It appears to be an R2LC problem. Would I be better off getting new R2LC boards for each or install and ERR DC commander. If I were to buy the commander would my sound board work or would I have to purchase a new one.
