20' by 4' with a little more at one end

I have been angsting over what I should do with my space for too long.

Surrounded by House Electrical Panel; Gas Meters;Furnace;Oil Tanks I have an island of happiness!

How many loops should I have?

How many levels?

Should I have all my inventory on the layout?

Let me work with RRtrack some more.

Should I convert the footprint to 8x8 (Thanks Mianne Benchwork for ability to rebuild the benchwork!) and build a Lionel Display?

Go to the Forum and look at size and space I will never have.

So here I am today with the latest version. Based off the great folks here and layout books I have built this design.

Guess I need to color within the lines but think outside the box, figure at this point I can't display all by inventory.

Get something up with a little room for other things down the road and move on..

Your plan is pretty good for a single level layout. The loop accessible from either direction is great. 

Going to multi level will expand your trackage but will make building more involved. It boils down to the time you have and the goal results you want. You have a good solid plan now.....but there is always room for change.
