Looks like these are shipping! Anyone receive theirs? Looking forward to getting 3985. Also curious how the 49'er scheme turned out. As always pics/videos are encouraged

They are shipping from the Lionel store
Just got an email from Mr Muffin that they are expecting these in a couple weeks.
Thank you guys. Time to get excited!!!!!!
Great news!
And any word on the Auxiliary tenders?
Nicholas Smith is receiving VisionLine Challengers on June 28. Shipping to customers shortly thereafter

That depends on how well executed this run of Challengers is.
The Challengers are coming this week!
I am still staying away from Lionel, their quality is still bad.
Many people are having problems with the new Legacy PA’s.
Buyer beware.
Since I am batting a thousand on quality issues with Lionel products, I bet given I did not order the new ones they will be perfectly fine.
If there are problems, we should just return them. Don't mean to put the dealer in the middle....but there is really no other way.
Poor QC + BTO = BAD NEWS.
So, according to my not so precise formula, if you wish to keep BTO, you simply need to improve the QC.
p.s. - no Niagara silver paint will be acceptable.
Fingers crossed, everyone.

Do NOT cross your fingers. Cross your WALLET if need be.
When did the bar get so low that we have to HOPE that a 1600-1700 dollar model train is acceptable?
Demand better.
I'll just hope for the best.
Looking forward to getting mine

I'm most excited to see how 3985 turns out.
My grandpa has the 3949 on order and the water tender. Can't wait for it!
I just checked the Charles Ro website and availability date is now 08/10/19.
Same thing with the Auxiliary tenders.

My Bank of Chernobyl credit card is melting. Aug. perfect. Steve Nelson says there on their way to him now.
credit card gets break until August. could be worse news!
😎
My understanding is they'll be here in two weeks.
Excellent!
😎
I'm curious about updates.
I guess we spoke too soon. The Challenger are probably taking longer than we thought.
It doesn't matter when they g.et here. They just need to be as nice as the first round of VL Challengers....and be in one piece.
any update?
😎
I’d go by charles ro’s site and not expect to see my 3981 until mid August

I've heard from my dealer that they are on hold at Lionel. Word is that Lionel went to test some of the batch and went 0 for 3 on working models.
That would possibly explain the date constantly getting pushed back. And back. And back.

Couldn’t be a “engine can't remember ID” like the ALCOs? Better to catch anything before our layouts find out.
This is a REISSUE. All the bugs should already be worked out.....and the awful silver paint used on the Niagaras never opened again.
Now, if this is the same factory that made the 21" passenger cars....are you really surprised?
If you can't make something well that you've already made before, what can you make well?
That being said, this is all speculation and conjecture at this point. I don't mind waiting for something...so long as it meets my (high) expectations. Can't give Big Orange any heat at this point. Way too soon for that.

Nicholas Smith shared the Engines are being held back by Lionel but didn’t share specific issues.
