Hi everyone and thanks for any help.
I need a straight track 34" long. I'd prefer not to cut a custom piece.
Best I've come up with is 2 ten inch straights and 8 one and three quarter inch straights.
I'm terrible at math and fractions.
Is there a way to do it with fewer pieces?

It would be a lot cheaper to use 4 10" sections and custom cut the last one. Why the aversion to a cut section?
Its always better to cut a long piece than to put together all of those little short things. The more joints in the rail, the more conductivity problems you'll have. Just buy a 40" piece and cut 6" off.
I wouldn't sacrifice an expensive intact 40" section.
I would cut the long one, then you have a 6 inch piece to add somewhere. spur tack perhaps?

How about two 10" lengths, two 5 1/2" lengths, and one each 1 3/4" and 1 1/4".

Lazy, Atlas makes a 4 1/2 inch piece. Its number is 6051. Sooooo, you can use three (3) 10" pieces and one (1) 4 1/2" piece and only waste 1/2". How's that?
