That's an excellent point, good photos are absolutely essential for evaluating model quality. But sounds are important to me, as well as the general "feel" of the locomotive running.

I agree up to a point. Most people taking the videos just love to lay on the horn or whistle to point where you can't hear the engine running!

My only observation is- we are in the information age- why is it so hard to show photo on website of version produced? Or updated to that once decided upon?

My CNW GP7 showed up as steam generator passenger version with HEP blisters on rear of hood. I can fix fuel/water tank and remove roof air tanks but HEP blisters are part of shell.

Great model-unit not what shown. Only 9 out of 125 CNW owned GP7s were this version. How does this get chosen-would guess many would be surprised. Not what I thought I bought...

Same withSD40-2 project T-2s not even shown-think this hurts orders-I now added late.... I know staff is thin but IT guys are out there- and a college kid could do it if given proper photos.

Scott is the best to deal with in O scale- having direct contact with him is invaluable. Just some observations.

Lastly- a photo archive of past models produced would be a great sales tool-in my opinion.

Glad to hear comments but if it is just snarky stuff save it. I'm sure the artillery will be incoming shortly.

I couldn’t agree more! I’ve been working with the help of others contributions of information to do just that. I started with the GGD names trains and some of the E &F units. Below is a link to my page on the GGD Sunset Limited and E7’s. If you click the menu button you will find my own archive info on many GGD/Sunset offerings. Some have photos, some are partially complete; it’s a work in progress. Likewise, if you have any info regarding specific name/number information that is missing, I will be happy to add it. I have worked on and off on this as time has allowed. I have not bothered Scott with it as he is busy making trains. Anyone and everyone’s contributions are appreciated.

We've already gotten a personal apology from Scott, AND he's said their taking care of the missing stanchions.  What else do you want?

I am a huge fan of Scott and the way he does business --his models are tops especially his passenger sets --the 1938 and 1947 20th Century sets are works of art as is the Daylight , Powhattan arrow and Congressional. I just received my 1938 super chief and cant wait to open the box. His E6 and E8 diesels I am very happy with. my only gripe is the glue they use seems not to last --lot of loose figures and window panes --fixable but a pain taking cars apart. I have a hunch the upcoming B&O EA  and SF E1 diesels will be masterpieces.

Sorry, I'm a 2R guy and saw nothing posted about this issue on the 2R forum. I didn't read this entire thread and saw nothing, so that's why I posted. Scott has always been a stand up guy, so I expected he would take care of it.

Yea, I know, we missed a hand rail stanchion in our entire design and checking process. It's always the missing part you can't see.

If it was in the wrong place, wrong color or crooked, it's very easy to spot. But a missing detail, that can be illusive. No excuse, just happens from time to time.

So we are making, ONE stanchion for every model produced and will mail them to customers and dealers, in a few months.

The plan is for them to slip over the railing, and you glue the bottom in place. Make sure you do it straight or it will look worse than if it were missing.

You don't have to ask for one. I will mail one to every customer and dealer.

Wow, that NH Geep  looks great on the track.

The MU hoses were not included with any of the 3R models. I emailed Scott & he said that he will send them out in a couple of months. (Probably with the missing handrail stantion) and yes to a question asked above. The engine still operated on 072 with the kadees installed.

It would have been nice if it was delivered from the factory with all of the above already set up, but it’s not hard to do myself and I my not letting it spoil my fun. Spectacular model!!

Dj, I want to make the same changes with figures and change  my PRR GP7 to long hood forward. I assume the cabin can be flipped. How would you do the electronics?

Thanks for you response DJ. Again, great looking model. Kicking myself for not getting in on this run, but committed the funds to the next F3 and SD40-2 run.

Having crew figures seems like a standard feature on a high end locomotive. I wonder if that was intentional? Did Scott give you input on that?

Borrowing Bruk's photo from page 4, under the red arrow, the two terminals on the right of this row, reverse the red and blue wires.

The cab interior cannot be flipped. I unscrewed everything, drilled new holes and moved it diagonally across the cab. There was a box originally on the conductor's side, I assume to represent a cab heater, I left it out as the hump in the floor for the can motor doesn't allow you to put it in it's opposite corner. You couldn't really see it through the cab window anyway. For the N&W ones it would be sweet to be able to source duplicates for dual control stands.

If its the barrel controller, you have to look out for kemtron o scale parts, esp on da bay.
