497 Coal Station Re-string Fish Wire

I have not found a way to make the two fish lines equal when pulling up the 497-receiving bin. I tie knots in the fish lines but cannot get them the same length, so the receiving bin goes up at an angle. Love to know how to get this issue solved. Thanks.

My 497 is in a box so this is from memory. The drums of the left and right side are spring loaded an act like a clutch. Move the bin all the way down and turn the drums by hand so that the cords are equal.
