5v Proto 2

I was running an engine with a 5 V Proto 2 board in it on the train track and all At once it shorted out on the tracks and I took the shell off and looked at everything can’t find any short in any wires and my question is can the 5v board itself short that causes the transformer to short out on the track ?curious thanks for your assistance

Yes, 5V boards can have a high current short when they just fail. It will be reflected at the transformer. Most likely needs an upgrade to the PS-32 5V board. G
