7' vy 10' Fasttrack Layout

Frank - each diameter of fastrack is made to fit inside each other. For example 36" fits inside 48", 48" fits in 60", and so on.

By the way, since you have 7' to work with why not use 60" or 72" fastrack? Bigger curves look better and hey, size does matter.

Until you go to 31".

It doesn't fit.

IF Lionel had used the original 14.14" center rail radius for 31", like MTH did for their O-31, then it would have fit. Of course, in FasTrack terminology & geometry, it would have to be called FasTrack O-28.28!

OK, guys thank you for the responses. If I go with a outer loop using 60" curves will I have room in the middle for the 40" x 90" figure 8 that uses 36" curves? thanks

here's the O36 Figure 8 layout from the Track & Power catalog on a 7 x 10. Any size loop can fit around it.  Shorter straight for an O72.

Carl and all, thanks for the input. Things are coming together in my head. Is it possible to tell (in inches) how the long the straights will be on the 72" loop as opposed to the 60" loop, on the 7' x 10' space?
