A real trains trip on the Franklin Inn | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

On July 1, the Washington DC Chapter NRHS had a volunteer recognition excursion to Williamsburg and Newport News, VA. Members rode former Pennsylvania RR coach "Franklin Inn." Here's some photos from the day, and a few in Norfolk of the new TIDE light rail service. Those TIDE cars look like good candidates for O-Gauge modelling!

1. The Auto Train at Quantico Creek, VA.

2. Richmond Main Street Station.

3. In the yard at Newport News, seen from the platform of the passenger station.

4. Acca Yard, Richmond, VA.

5. Another view at Newport News.

6. C&O Steam Locomotive preserved in Newport News, VA. In the park across the street from the Amtrak Station.

7, 8: The Tide, light rail in Norfolk, VA.

9. Newport News yard, as Amtrak train 66 pulls out to back down into the station.
