We get many gracious donations of old trains for our modular group, but this has to be one of the best. When modular group member, Jerry (jec), walked though the door with this box, I had to sit down.........literally, my knees were weak. I recognized the box from the 1957-58 Super O era, and, it was!

When I saw the set box number, 2503, I knew it would be 1958 (I received 2507 from Santa that year).

Here is me opening it up.

Look at that! An original boatload with authentic harnesses! The track is also in decent shape.

Note: the Wawa coffee is 2022.....

I went home and pulled out my 58 catalog.

We are going to have a great time running this 1958 gem!

Peter,

The locomotive and cars look to be in excellent condition. What would you rate them? The catalog and its art are exceptional too. Can it really be 65 years ago that we were reading those 1950s Lionel catalogs and admiring the trains? Seems more like yesterday - but I know it's not.

A little bit dusty. Finger marks.  I’ll see how they clean up.
VG at worst.

You look like a kid on Christmas morning, Peter!!! It looks like the boxes are in pretty good shape too, especially considering they’re 64 years old!!! Look forward to a video.
