A Tale of Two Locos

Here is another option...my two cents worth thinks they look fine. If anything, if you could maybe shorten the drawbar on the 10-wheeler. Other than that, I think they look fine, and that (the drawbar suggestion)  might even be nit-picking.

I'm a big tender fan myself. The PRR Coast to Coast looks great, even behind a K4.

I have often thought tenders look too big, but I do not know a lot about real trains. My perception changed some when I wend to the RR museum in Sacramento.  Some of the tenders are almost as big as the  loco's. The tender for the cab forward is an absolute monster.

Both items are "approximations". The 4-6-0 is a "typical" Baldwin Ten-wheeler of a certain era, but many lasted until the end of steam and some had fairly large tenders at the end. The WBB tender is a nice USRA-standard, but not "wrong" for a freelance loco.

The Lionel 2-8-0 is a Harriman (SP/UP/Alton) Consolidation, and a good model, but the tender (also a good model) has a PRR prototype. So, not really "Reading"...

But, that's not your objection. They "look wrong" to you. I'm a locomotive basher and always like to see someone else attack one. Or two. I have swapped electronics from loco to loco. Worked fine. Essentially, take your time and analyze what must me moved from A to B tenders. Leave the trucks alone if possible. They both have tender pickups, I think. The wires are just wires, and wherever truck A attached to board A, it can attach to board B where board B needs it.

Move and re-mount the boards in the new tenders; leave the speakers alone if possible.

It just takes some analysis and a few/several days (in my case) of "Hm-m-m" and "but, if...", and sleeping on it. Before I start.

There is some size differential here; will both packages fit in either tender?
