A friend of mine recommended these models so I picked up a couple at York.  This kit took about 14 hours to complete and I have to say that it is one of the finest kits I have ever put together.  The fit and finish is excellent!  Bob Spaulding, the creator and owner of Altoona Model works, put some serious time and effort into making these kits. I couldn't resist placing it on the layout and putting a little gravel around it to see what it might look like in a setting.  Just an iphone pic.  Checkem' out if you are looking for a high end kit.

Great work Dave. The kits are excellent, looking at their stack after seeing at a show.

These pictures show a factory that I built from an Altoona Model Works "Picklers Warehouse" O scale kit. To fit the model into the scene on my railroad, I omitted the base and large loading platforms supplied with the kit and substituted a "brick" foundation. I also added the rooftop clerestory. The water tank was built from an Altoona kit purchased as an optional extra. The design of the kit, with clapboard siding applied over an inner laser-cut masonite frame, produces a sturdy, well-aligned model that was enjoyable to build. It is the most imposing structure on my model railroad.
