I searched for topics similar to this one and if this is redundant I apologize. If it exists I would appreciate a link to it.

I am a big fan of Legacy and my CAB2. Having said that it is long in the tooth and due for a significant upgrade. Is there any indication/rumors the Lionel will update Legacy any time soon?

Here are a few features I would love to have...

option to use 4 digits to address engines. If you have a lot of engines you can appreciate how big a PITA it is assign an engine ID to an engine using only two digits, IF you hope to use the first or last two digits of the engine's number. If I don't I can never remember its ID. Yes you can search it but I just want to hit ENG and the loco's number and start playing!

Dedicate individual soft keys (menus) for Track and Trains. If you have a lot of blocks then you can appreciate how quickly you can run out of TR addresses leaving you none for trains. OR if you use assign blocks as Accessories you don't have enough addresses for actual accessories.

Add a soft key menu for Rolling Stock, this would free up ENG addresses. BUT if Legacy could recognize 4 digits to address an engine/piece of rolling stock this would be less critical.

Logitech stopped making Harmony remotes, too bad Lionel could not get the molds for them.

Enough of my rambling.

Forget about 4 digit TMCC addresses, that would break every engine you currently have!

Very interesting!

CAB3 App......and no mention of a CAB3 remote, sounds like the handheld remote is going the way of the dodo. I hope not. I guess we will all find out this friday. I sure like the ability to tacitly identify the various controls/inputs of the CAB2 without having to look down at the remote. If I have to use my ipad or a phone I will be looking down a lot more. As a motorcyclist, it is in my DNA to keep my head up and not look down at the controls!

Your Cab2 will still work with this. Get another Cab2 now while you still can if you prefer it.
